Architecture and Standards for a Distributed Digital Library of Geospatial Services

technology developments leading to the architecture and to the selection and definition of new standards for a distributed digital library of geospatial services. Furthermore the paper describes the requirements for the open service oriented architecture, which may form the enabling element of a widely distributed digital library. The paper details how the supporting protocols are being defined and relates the ongoing work to major European and world wide initiatives.
